Happy Labor Day!!!
As I type that greeting, I can't believe it either... the end of our glorious summer. However, that just means we are on to our glorious fall and winter full of fun in the snow!! I hope you enjoyed this summer as much as we did. It really was one for the books.
As we turn the page, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their commitment to this beautiful lake and wonderful community. We really are lucky/blessed/fortunate (choose your word) to have found our "special place" here in Enfield. Thank you for all you do! And, a very special thank you to Shirley Green for all of her work with Lake Smart. I don't know if you are aware, but we are the number one lake in the state with participation in Lake Smart, the NH LAKES initiative to help homeowners find practical solutions to protecting our lakes. Please take a moment to read this great article (click on this link: Great Article!) about Crystal Lake and everything you have done to protect it. Nice work, thank you!
One other thing I wanted to mention, our own Crystal Lake Watershed Management Plan is about to kick off. This week will be the inaugural meeting of the "Steering Committee". The committee will be led by Christine Bunyon from FB Environmental, who spoke at this year's CLIA annual meeting. Even if you are not on the committee, your thoughts and comments will be welcome. I have been asked to be a part of the Steering Committee and will try my best to keep folks informed. Again, please do not hesitate to reach out at any point with questions or comments.
Oh wait... breaking news. We may have just secured a fun fundraising event at Hoptomystic for October 3rd! More details to follow, but block off 5-7pm 10/3 in your calendar!!! Rumor has it that a special musical acoustic/vocal duo from Crystal Lake may be performing that evening. Stay tuned for more info, but this looks like it could be a lot of fun!
