Lake Smart Property Tours and a few more things...
Get out your calendars! There are several things you may be interested in the first week in August. Let's start with a note from Shirley and then you'll see some more important information below that...
Dear Crystal Lake Neighbors,
I hope this note finds you well I am writing to let you know that I am gathering a list of people to participate in a Lake Smart
Property Tour on Tuesday, August 4th. This is a NH LAKES program. It encourages lake friendly living. lf 15 percent (we have reached 25 percent at this time) of our lake community is designated as Lake Smart, we become a Lake Smart Community and it is a great way to encourage others on the lake to become more lake friendly on their property.
Representatives from NH LAKES will visit each property on the list to observe lake friendly living practices. They may have recommendations or suggestions or there may be no recommendations needed. Their visits are very friendly, no obligation and a pressure free approach.
As of June 16th, our last Lake Smart Property Tour Day, 33 properties on Crystal Lake have received the LakeSmart Award. As of that date, Crystal Lake in Enfield has the highest percentage of LakeSmart individuals in a LakeSmart Community by one percent. So exciting! With your help I hope we can hold on to that record. We have been notified that Crystal Lake lmprovement Association has earned the Lake Smart Community Award. NH LAKES wants to plan a time to formally present a certificate to our group.
I am hoping that you would like to participate in the LakeSmart Property Tour on August 4th and I thank you in advance for your consideration. Although, it is very nice if you can be present when they do the tour, it is not necessary for you to be there. They can send you a report regarding their observations. Please notify me as soon as possible if you would like to be added to the list.

Best,

Our Annual Meeting is on August 2nd at 9am in the Enfield Community Building on Rt. 4. (In my last email I mistakenly had the 2nd and 3rd listed. It's on Sunday the 2nd!)
On August 3rd at 6pm in the upstairs meeting room of Whitney Hall, the selectboard will hear a presentation from FB Environmental on the results of the Mascoma Watershed Management Plan. So why is this important to us? 1) Crystal Lake is part of the Mascoma Lake watershed. While not the main focus, some research was conducted on Crystal Lake as a part of the study. 2) FB Environmental is the same company that will be leading our Crystal Lake Watershed Management study beginning soon. 3) Mascoma Lake is a huge part of this community and important from a recreation and economic perspective. The health of Mascoma Lake impacts all of us.
And lastly as it relates to our own upcoming Watershed Management Plan, the town just put out a call for applications to be a member of the Crystal Lake Watershed Plan Committee. Applications are available at https://forms.cloud.microsoft/g/fqSNTwL5Tp. and are due by August 12th. Questions may be directed to the Town Manager's Office at (603) 632-5026.
OK, that's all I've got for now!
Talk Soon,
Dan
