ANNUAL INDEPENDENCE DAY BOAT PARADE

The parade will take place on Saturday, July 4th at 3:00 pm (rain date, Sunday, July 5th).  This year is a very special Independence Day Parade!  It is America’s 250th Celebration (Semiquincentennial) of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Enfield, along with towns and cities from states across America, is planning events throughout the year to celebrate this milestone event in our history.  So, let’s make this the biggest and best parade ever!

As usual there will be a decorated boat contest.  If you wish to be part of the decorating contest, email shirley.a.green@comcast.net to register for a boat number.  Only boats with a visible number will be judged.  Registered boats should always complete the second turn around the lake; to be sure the boat was seen by the judges.

As always, the parade will start at 3:00 pm from the boat ramp and proceed clockwise around the lake. Boats can join the parade at the ramp or as the parade proceeds around the lake you can join onto the end.  If you should choose not to decorate your boat, you are still very welcome to join in and be part of the fun.  The lead boat will set the pace, and all boats are expected to follow that example, please try to stay on the same track as the lead.

Hope to see you all out there joining in the fun!
