Boat Launch Update with Some Changes (4/6/26)

So here is the latest with some fine-tuning... Please read all of it!
Fish and Game has been very helpful and forthcoming with information. All systems are a go on the boat launch project. The i's have been dotted and t's crossed with the next step being approval at a state council meeting on April 15th. Barring any last minute issues, an approval at that meeting would then trigger the contractor being notified to begin the work. One change here is that the work could begin as early as April 16th. This is a slight change (I'm providing the information as I get it) which could have an impact on your schedule. The reason I say this is that the boat launch could be closed before the April 18/19 weekend. So if you were planning to get your boat in then... it is not guaranteed that the boat launch will still be open. The start date is really in the hands of the contractor and they may jump on it, or they may give it a few days to coordinate with other projects they have on their plate.
Now for the completion timeframe... What I shared before is in fact the case. The contractor has 8 weeks to complete the project which would take us to somewhere in the June 16- 20th timeframe. Having said that, if everything were to land jelly-side up (no issues) the project could be completed by the end of May. Up to you if you want to be thinking of the end of May or mid-June in your head.
The NH Dam Bureau has been great to work with. They have been engaged in our issue and have been quite responsive to what we are trying to accomplish, including trying to get our boats in! They put one board in this past Tuesday which brought the level up just a bit. Then on Friday they came back and added another board or two which brought the level up some more. Today they came back again and put all of the boards in so we are now positioned now to fill 'er up all the way. This will take some time, but we are making progress. About ten days ago the water was not touching the concrete slabs at the boat launch. Today the bottom three slabs are covered. Not sure I'd try to launch a boat just yet, but hopefully by Thursday or Friday?
Final issue... The plan is to not drop the water at all during construction. The contractor will be building a temporary cofferdam around the ramp and pumping out all of the water on the land-side. As a result the loons will be OK, if you put a boat in prior to the construction you should be fine, and we won't need to worry about "refilling" the lake in June.
Again, I will try to communicate the most up to date and accurate information as I get it. If you are "hearing" other things... Consider the source. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or comments.
Talk Soon,
Dan
