Lake News - February
Hello Neighbors!
It was a beautiful winter's day today at the lake. The sun was shining, the temp was manageable, and the ice was thick! Hopefully everyone got a chance to enjoy it here in Enfield or had an equally beautiful day wherever you might be.
I have a couple of quick, but important things for you. Let me start with the Mascoma Watershed Management Plan. As a reminder, this project started well over a year ago with the objectives of better understanding the Mascoma Watershed and the development of a plan to improve the water quality of Lake Mascoma. A presentation of the findings/recommendations will take place this Tuesday (2/17) from 4pm - 5pm. All are welcome to Zoom or dial in (please see logistical information below).
While this plan does touch on Crystal Lake a bit, our plan is to conduct our own Crystal Lake Watershed Management Plan this year. More to come on that...

Next... get out your calendars! We have a date for a Crystal Lake Improvement Association dinner cruise on Lake Sunapee complete with fireworks! Our amazing Shirley Greene has once again secured the "Best of the Summer" date to coincide with the Town of Newbury fireworks at the south end of the lake. We will be setting sail on Saturday July 11th. More info to follow, but I wanted to get the date out ASAP so everyone can block it off. Fun times!!
Lastly, a lot has been happening in Concord during the new legislative session. Many lake friendly bills have been making it through the process, while others did not successfully come out of committee. The next major steps will be full chamber discussions/votes and then the "crossover". This is where successful bills will move to the other chamber (House or Senate) for consideration. If you have questions on specific bills, please see the resources and links below. (I may be reaching out later in the session asking folks to get in touch with Reps/Senators if there is legislation that will impact our lake.)
That's it for now. If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to reach out! (Remember... all complaints go to 1-800-Bill- Griffin!)
Talk Soon,
Dan
